Looping Museum
Medium: Unity
Running Time: Interactive (Approx. 4min each time)
Year: 2025
The Looping Museum is an interactive installation game that explores the distortion of time in a post-human exhibition space. Each exhibit loops in the wrong direction — plants grow backward, sculptures move in reverse, and sounds play inverted. The player acts as a “Time Curator,” gradually restoring the natural rhythm of each room.
- Time Distortion
- Everything in the museum runs in reverse or loops incorrectly.
- Restoration
- The player interacts with temporal devices to stabilize each exhibit.
- Reflection
- Once all rooms are synchronized, the player faces a mirror, which means time looks back.
Game
Inspsiration
Structure
Plants grow downward, and the player needs to find a way to reverse everything.
The player’s reflection lags and reverses, revealing the loop’s true nature.
The player catches the escaping sculptures and restores them to their original positions.
Mechanics
Player Actions:
- Walk through interconnected rooms.
- Rotate or interact with time-control devices.
- Observe changes in light, motion, and sound.
- Unlock the final room once all exhibits are “stabilized.”
Technical Implementation
- First-person movement
Controlled with keyboard and mouse for camera rotation
- Collision-based trigger
Detects when the player touches an exhibit
Activates timeline correction events (e.g., reverse animation, change light)
- UI interaction
Simple UI panel shows current status/room - Feedback system
Animations: object rotation, growth, or looping using Animator
Audio: short ambient sounds triggered upon interaction
